It's new band time again, and we've five crackers for you...


SAUL WILLIAMS (USA)
An awesome rapper and slam poet from the States who launches furious lyrics over crunching beats. A black Shakespeare, a lyrical Hendrix, Saul Williams' live show is off the fucking hook.

TAXI TAXI (SWE)
Identical twins from Sweden who've just turned 17. Their music is acoustic, intimate and extremely beautiful, and features finger-picked guitar, piano, accordion and glockenspiel.

KEEP OF KALESSIN (NO)
Keep Of Kalessin's brand of black metal is fast, brutal, and evil.
Blackened thrash riffs are played at breakneck speed, but they also manage to sustain a lot of melody. Guitarist Obsidian C is the star of this show. The former Satyricon shredder delivers some really creative riffs and melodies. Their style leans more toward the old school, but the production is crystal clear and modern.

SPANK ROCK (USA)
We saw them play in front of 2,000 people in a field in 2006 and even when the rain came and drenched us, no-one left. Combining hip-hop with the bass-driven sound of Baltimore house, filtering filthy raps into deep electro and furiously quick BPMs.

HOLY FUCK (USA)
Holy Fuck are an instrumental four-piece from Canada. Their basic setup is simple: two drummers, keyboards, and electronic noise generators. Voted one of the three best bands at Glastonbury last year, they were actually stopped from playing for being too loud.

JUSTICE, LIVE (FR)
Daft Punk re-imagined by Judas Priest. This is stadium dance, arena disco... call it what you like, as long as you don't miss it. Where usually Justice DJ using other people's records, this time they'll be remixing their own music live.

The spirit of indie-rock filtered through DFA-style electro dancefloor beats.

TRENTEMØLLER (DK)
Andreas Trentemøller has remixed everyone from Röyksopp to the Pet Shop Boys, but it's with his own trademark sound that he's really made his name. Subtle, epic, human; his recordings bring real instrumentation to the fore.

Dark, menacing, minimalist techno from the one of the most respected names in the world. This is a very, very rare live appearance.

Først: Brenn den latterlige øya utenfor Arendal...

Så, støtt opp om Quart... Viktig det altså. Ellers er det bare å satse på at skotten som uttaler Beatles på en fantastisk måte, mer som " bætls", gjør en god jobb og fikser greiene. Håper selvf på store navn, men også gøye norske.

Tror mdet viktigste som quart gjør fremover er å fikse sin skakkjørte PR politikk, få med P3 på banen med orakelet på toppen der, og fiks god underholdning i Gravane. Det er jo perfekt vorspiel

Idag har vel vår kjære skotte Andy Inglis uttalt at Quarten ikke lenger skal være stor, men kvalitet. Det var noe som faktisk jeg likte. Trenger ikke være store hvis man skaffer kvalitets band.

Friendly Fires are an endangered species - one of the very, very few bands that NME hypes up who are actually any good. Early '90s dance beats and synths nailed to indie rock anthems.

Menacing nocturnal opuses, mathematical precision, schizophrenic temperament and omnipotent basslines. Interpol are one of the greatest live band in the world and right now, they're at the top of their game. When they come on, you'll see me down the front, with a suit on, throwing myself around like I have no concern at all for my own safety. 'Say Hello To The Angels'.

VV&TVs mine a rich seam of dark ’50s British rock 'n' roll, transforming it into something exciting and urgent, all heartbroken lyrics and cut-throat harmonies.

Dette lover godt. Dizzi Rascal er jo artig, og mye av det andre virker absolutt til å kunne gi oss enda en sommer med flotte opplevelser på Odderøya

Jeg støtter Quart så mye jeg kan. Er helt enig med Martin i at de må komme på godfot med Petre igjen og få de til å satse litt mer enn ifjor. Hove hadde nyhetsverdi ifjor, men har ikke tro på at de skal kunne ta over for Quart. Syns det er bra Quart er på vei tilbake til røttene sine igjen med ny og ukjent musikk, ispedd noen kjente band som trekker litt ekstra folk. Alle de nye bandene er krydder som gjør det hele til en god festival. Jeg gleder meg

Stiller på Quart i år uasnett!
Var litt både på Hove og på Quart i fjor, likte meg ikk på Hove...blir for "lurvete campingliv og fjortissfyll" for min del. Tar nok aldri turen der igjen...hvis ikke en av favorittgruppene mine spiller da..
